FHNW Academy of Art and Design Basel
From a different angle: Using design to innovate in industry
The task
The once separate disciplines of Industrial Design, Interior Architecture & Scenography as well as Fashion Design were fused together in 2021 to form the Institute of Contemporary Design Practices at the FHNW Academy of Art and Design Basel. At the end of each academic year, the Industrial Design department of the FHNW Academy of Art and Design Basel publishes a yearbook documenting the research topics, educational practices and student projects of the past twelve months.
Our solution
Stephanie Ringel has been working for the university as an external expert and author since 2016. In the 2022/23 winter semester, we initiated and actively participated in a collaborative project between a group of students and the long-established Swiss company Embru.
At the end of the project, we wrote about it in a piece called “Learning from one another to shape new markets”, which was published in German and English in the 2023 yearbook.
