A new knowledge forum for women, families and experts

The Manja Gideon Foundation teamed up with a scientific advisory board to create a new section of its website dedicated to hereditary ovarian cancer, which is now in the main menu on the homepage. The medically sound background knowledge, paired with information about available services, includes the first in-depth compilation of texts, audiovisual specialist information and resources related to ovarian cancer and hereditary risk in Switzerland.

By raising awareness of and publishing content on this lesser-known issue, a gap is being closed. The website is available in two languages (German/English) and is aimed at women, women with ovarian cancer, their families, general practitioners, specialist doctors, medical specialists and researchers.

The section “Hereditary ovarian cancer” has been live since January 2023 and is divided into four areas:

  1. Facts and figures: Risk groups, BRCA, Treatment options
  2. The psychological impact of cancer: How are you feeling?
  3. Resource guide: From doctors to self-help groups
  4. Being proactive: Educational videos, Checklists and family tree analysis, Recommended reading

We have been running the foundation’s office since 2016. Since its establishment, we have been overseeing all activities that help boost the visibility of this vital topic: strategic networking, communication services and – starting with this project – sponsoring.
