Seeing design with different eyes

In the long interview with Stephanie Ringel, Aurel Aebi of atelier oï shares his knowledge of materials. Aebi is a founding partner of the internationally successful design studio based in La Neuville. For him, only “The sum of all ideas that results in something special”.

Colors and surfaces play an important role for him as an architect and designer. He not only looks at a space’s overall environment, but in our conversation performed a precise and instructive analysis. What he sees when he looks at something closely can be summed up as follows: from looking to marvelling.
