A spirit of optimism
Schöner Wohnen Schweiz says goodbye to the Swiss marketplace at the end of June 2025 after almost 40 years. We had the mandate to lead the editorial team for 12 years and report on Swiss design, building and lifestyle. What did we love?
Content first
It is a privilege to discover. We interviewed designers and architects. Went to trade fairs all over Europe. We looked at exhibitions and spoke to representatives of the creative industries. The aim was always to make design expertise visible as an everyday culture and economic force in its own right. Looking back, we would be happy if our contribution helped to make contemporary Swiss design visible, and added some stories to design history.
Great encounters
Iria Degen, atelier oi, Peter Zumthor, Gabriele Buratti, Alfredo Häberli, Herzog de Meuron, Julie Richoz, Christo & Jeanne Claude, Yvonne Rogenmoser...and so many more - all exceptional creative minds from the worlds of design, architecture and art. Every conversation was a chance to learn something, which we then reported on.
A first class team
Delivering on time and good to print every month for twelve years is only possible as a team. I am grateful that I have been able to work with professional, constructive and committed photographers, authors, proofreaders, printers and lithographers and, of course, our graphic designer Aysun Ergez! Routine and trust are the basis for successful and efficient collaboration. A big thank you to RTL AdAlliance, our client, for the many years of cooperation.
