A visit to Lehni AG

With a finger on the pulse: we regularly organize workshops on the subject of “Market & trends” in the creative industry. That involves making on-site visits to companies and discussing subjects such as deindustrialization, de-globalization and digitalization.

And getting to know a company’s history, understanding production and learning what it takes for an innovation to be market ready can be a great place for communication work to start – especially when companies have a treasure trove of information.

This time we went with the Interior and Communication Design student group of the Swiss Textile College (STF) to visit Benedetta Agostini of Lehni AG. The company’s highly specialized team has been working with metal for 100 years and it is one of the few manufacturers of design furniture located in Switzerland.

We learned how the innovative aluminum table by designer Hanspeter Weidmann, for example, can be understood as both a product of craftsmanship and complex engineering alike.
